I just bought an xs 0.8. My intention is to leave it hooked up to my motorcycle battery while I'm away for 6 months. The box implies "connect & forget". I assume it's safe to do so provided there's proper ventilation but now I see in the manual "Don't leave any battery during charging unattended for a longer period of time". Any advice as to whether 6 months unattended is too long?

I saw a comment that recond mode and AGM setting can damage the battery.Also that in summer there is no need to set to AGM for and AGM battery , only do it in Winter. Is that correct. Thank you.

No, you cannot jump start or boost through our eyelet accessories. The CS FREE has dedicated clamps that must be used when charging or adaptively boosting.

The Ctek chargers have a gentle maintenance mode for my backup lithium batteries for sitting for prolonged periods in standby. Lithium batteries especially don't like being kept on trickle float on maxium charge for long periods.

Gday, I have an Audi Q7 2023, and I'm looking for a battery charger that doesn't require an AC plug-something like a power bank that can trickle charge the battery. Due to a hip injury, I won't be able to drive my car for the next three months. I have to park it in my apartment's parking spot, which has no AC plug.

Does the MXS 5 provide low amperes( less than 4.3 A) in motorcycle mode? I need a charger to maintain my motorcycle 12 V lead acid batteries as well as for the car. My bike battery is 10AmpH. And car is 35AmpH with CCA of 35. Which one to choose between powersport and mxs5?
Hi! Yes, in motorcycle mode the MXS 5.0 (North American version) will charge with 0.8A, which would be suitable for your 10Ah battery. So the MXS 5.0 would be a good pick, using motorcycle mode on your motorcycle battery and the car/normal mode on your car battery.

Why not button on the charger for the different modes ? Should not be required to use an app for extra modes. The app requirement is the main reason I did not buy this charger. Bought one from a different brand instead.

I mainly need a maintainer/charger for my present and future motorcycles. But occasionally i would like to use it on my regular car too. Can the powersport charger be used as a maintanace for regular car batteries?
Hi! The CT5 POWERSPORT is recommended for batteries between 5-25Ah in size. If your car batteries are slightly bigger than that, it would still work, even though the charging would be slow. If you have larger batteries we would recommend a different model. If both your motorcycle and car batteries are of some lead-acid type, you could go for the MXS 3.8 or MXS 5.0 which feature both motorcycle and car modes, or the CS ONE which will adapt its charging algorithm based on the battery.

Hi, I have a ctek mxs5.0 that I use to trickle feed my Noble m12 gto 3r that are renowned for battery drain when not in use. For 18 months this worked fine but late last year i noticed the red warning light, thought nothing of it as the car started fine. However, after the winter I returned to the car to find a completely dead battery and of course the red light again. I assumed as the battery wouldn't hold charge thereafter it was simply a battery issue. However, having replaced the battery 2 weeks ago I put the charger on tickle last weekend and returning to it this weekend I have the red light again. I've had the car checked fully and as I say a new battery so is it possible the ctek charger is now faulty and needs replacing? If possible i don't want to buy a new one without your advice. Thank you.
I should add the green light had reached stage 5 on the last charger cycle.

@CTEKBatteryChargers The battery is an 075, 642SMF is the manufacturer part number I believe. There are no new loads on the car. The charger is presently working fine (on vehicle for 1 week) and been showing 7 green lights happily but intermittently when I've been connecting it the ctek has either got 2 or 4 green lights then the red light illuminates at some point and its clearly no longer charging. Due to this I lost a battery it went so dead it died and couldn't be recovered. This made me believe it was a battery issue but a new battery otherwise working perfectly other than this continued intermittent charging issue. So, the question is do I have a faulty charger that needs replacing?

bought a Kawasaki Z800 in summer 2016, now in summer 2024 still original battery, last winter it was bit hard to start but still going
without any battery charger or tender

I use mine in a motor home to charge the starter battery, it is difficult to disconnect as it is under the cab floor (Fiat Ducato), so is it okay to leave it connected while I am driving???

This company is CRAP! There was no support or service in my country (Australia), Tray contacted the global support page after two emails, but there was no response. Not recommended. I have five CiTEK chargers in my workshop, now I'm changing all my chargers to BOSCH C70/10amp. Half a price!
I accidentally ordered this small motorcycle charger for my car. And it took a while but it did not only recharge my battery, but after a few uses it seems to have restored it now where I can go for a week or more without driving and the car starts easily. So the product is good.

I have a problem regarding the product that suits best my needs. I have a 2016 S63 AMG that has 2 batteries, the main one being a Li-ION battery. The car is sitting for weeks or months at a time during the winter in the garage. Is the ctek cs one the best option, or should i consider the ctek lithium xs or ctek pro25s ?

With my MX7.0 the red light starts glowing when I connect the cable clamp extension (tried also with a brand new one) without any battery connected. What does that mean?

So there is no power on/off button on the charger itself, like with the 3300? And is this "spark free" thing something new? Because you can spark the 3300 clamps when touching together. Is CTEK every going to fix how easily the clamp shells break off?

@@CTEKBatteryChargers Well I never walked or abuse the ones on my older 3300 and they still broke. They are exactly the same on the newer chargers, so they will eventually break too. You guys need to start selling clamp shells again! I would buy an extra set for just in case.
My charger just beeped 5 times(i think). There is no beepcode chart in the manual, what does it mean?

CTEK suggests to connect the negative lead to a ground on the vehicle and not the negative on the battery, yet they sell a bolt on connector that does connect to the battery leads. But I'm assuming they don't suggest connecting clamps the battery leads to prevent sparking, which really isn't a huge issue. CTEK please start selling the plastic clamp shells again, these thing break off all the time and we shouldn't have to purchase a new clamp set because that's just a waste.
Hi, There is no problem in connecting the ring terminal to a chassis ground and you don't have to connect it to the battery. Our chargers are spark free so that isn't the reason. The reason is that the veichle BMS will freak out when it wont detect the charging that is happening. Sparking can be a huge problem if the battery has gassed recently due to high temperatures, this can cause an explosion. @@CTEKBatteryChargers Your reason makes no sense. The BMS will not know if the charger is connected directly to the negative terminal or a ground on the body of the vehicle.
